About our company

Go For Broke Music is a Limited liability music publishing and record label company founded by Matt Wong, a music business & PRoduction graduate from Honolulu Community College’s Music and Entertainment Learning Experience (MELE) program. Before this, he had the honor to serve in the US Army’s 100TH Battalion 442D Infantry Regiment, the famous Japanese-American unit of World War II. The soldiers of the unit developed the motto, “Go For Broke”, a Hawaiian Pidgin English expression that means “To give it your all”. Although racially discriminated at that time, the soldiers of the 442D instilled the “Go For Broke” spirit on the battlefield, becoming the most decorated unit in US Army history.

Even though Matt is no longer in the Army, he instills that same spirit in Go For Broke Music by combining his military roots and his passion for music to serve his clientele and honor the soldiers of his unit that came before. Our vision is to build a repertoire of songwriters and artists by exploiting the exclusive rights reserved for their compositions and recordings, and by becoming a “One Stop Shop” for all of your music licensing needs.
